Women's Empowerment
Women play an essential role at every level of Dos Pueblos' operations. In Tipitapa, the women we work with are empowered to lead in their communities. All of our projects are dependent upon the resilience, commitment and creativity of the Nicaraguan women who maintain them all year.
Here, we will highlight the stories and responsibilities of a few of those women.
Doña Marina
Marina is in charge of the library and community garden in the community of Chilamatillo. For decades, she taught first grade in the local school, but due to recent health concerns, had to retire. Her involvement both allows her to continue supporting education in her community and ensures the sustainability of Dos Pueblos' projects.
